Learning to write is not a natural extention of learning to speak. Following are some differences between writing and speeking skill.
Speech writing
Speakers pronounce. Writers spell. Speech is usually informal and repetitive. Whiting on the other hand is more formal and compact. Seekers draw own their listeners reactions to know how or wheter to continue. Writers are often solitary in there process. Even they did'nt know where are their readers. Speakers use pauses and intonation. Writers use punctuations. Speakers can gauge the attitudes, beliefs nad fealings of their audience by there verbal and non verbal reactions. Writers must consider what and how much there audience needs to know about a given topic.
